Nothing is worse than passing by a mirror mid-day and realizing that your makeup is completely smudged or almost completely gone. I personally have very oily skin, so by noon, I usually look like I have just competed in a marathon of some sort when in reality, the only movement I’ve made is reaching for one more chip. The solution? PRIMER!
Primers are made for the face, eyes and even lips with the intent to prolong the wear of your makeup while looking fresh and cutting down the number of times you need to reapply. They are a wonderful prepping step for your morning makeup routine and the best part is that there is one for every type of skin.
Sure, applying primer is an extra step in an already rushed time of day, but trust me, applying a primer before your makeup is a step that you will not regret.
Here are some of my favorites:

I don’t wear makeup too often, so I can’t justify buying several primers to try at once, but I have heard good things about primers from Smashbox, Hourglass and Amazing Cosmetics. Currently I do not use a primer on my face, only on my lids. I go between Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance. The only other eyelid primer I’ve tried is from Smashbox.

Love my primer, but primer can clog pores; it’s great for special occasions though.
