Anybody watch the debates? It got me thinking about a lot of things Michelle Obama’s style and how much it impacts modern American fashion. Her wardrobe choices are always classic and chic and perfect for the occasion.
Since she became First Lady in 2008, her style has only garnered more and more attention. Compared to the likes of Jackie Kennedy, it’s no doubt that Michelle Obama has some seriously classy style. With the help of a hefty allowance and many stylists and designers, Michelle Obama is now a powerful figure in fashion. She has the ability to put up-and-coming designers in the limelight, start trends, and thus, has a considerable influence over the future of American fashion.
Her signature look: waisted belts, oversized pearls, broaches, blazers and J. Crew.

Honestly, her style is not my favorite thing about her. In the picture where she was wearing the floral print coat, I prefer the grey one the other woman is wearing. It’s not that I don’t think she makes good choices, I just don’t drool over them like everyone else. She is kind of like Kate Middleton when it comes to fashion, nice, safe, and almost boring.

the underboob belt in the coral outfit is a no-go. a few cute and flirty dresses but it doesn’t give the elegant impression.

I really love Michelle Obama and think she always looks great. I appreciate how she’s not afraid to try something new and experiment. Plus, as a woman even taller than she is, I like how she’s comfortable but dressy in both heels and flats. She’s definitely an inspiration to me.
