Ever since my “cool uncle” bought my sisters and I a copy of “The Princess Bride” when I was young, it’s been one of my favorite films. Love, adventure, rodents of unusual size: this 1987 movie has it all. And this month it turns 25 years old! Celebrate the birthday of this beloved film by perusing this gallery of its best moments.
Check out that above photo of the cast as they are today; everyone still looks pretty dashing, in my opinion. It’s been a long week for me, but I know that the perfect remedy will be to curl up and quote along with the film tonight!
What’s your favorite part of “The Princess Bride?” Favorite one liner?

the only 2 good parts of that movie is the whole “my name is inigo montoya. you’ve killed my father. prepare to die!” and “inconceivable!”

there are so many good one liners, it would be impossible to pick. the pics displayed are a pretty fair representation though.
although I will add …
“I could give you my word as a Spaniard.”
“No good. I’ve known too many Spaniards.”

one of the greatest movies (and books) ever. i think i saw this in the theater with my friends in junior high school. i got my husband hooked on this movie when we first started dating. just a couple years ago he ran into Wallace Shawn on the security line at the airport and got to talk to him.

Favorite movie of all time.
I use “Inconceivable!” and “As you wish” pretty much all the time. Classic.
My favorite line is probably Buttercup’s look after Wesley says the Fireswamp isn’t all that bad… and then he replies with “I’m not saying I’d like to build a summer home here.”
And where is the Billy Crystal in your gallery!? For shame, that’s the best scene! =P Love this film.

I’m always quoting this movie. It’s just so quotable!
