Some days coffee is the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning. Seriously: I’ll be curled up under the covers snarling at my alarm, but the thought of warm, caffeinated goodness somehow puts me in gear. So I guess I shouldn’t be surprised to discover that writers are fourth on the list of “professions that drink the most coffee.” Want to see the rest? Then click here!
Really? Only 46% of workers are less productive without coffee? Now, I can (and do) work without the aid of caffeine on some days, but a cup (or, sometimes, four) of coffee really steps up my game. I also take mine black, which probably means I should have been an attorney. And now all this talk of java has me itching for another cup. Time to go fire up the French press! [via io9]
Do any of these surprise you? Do you work in any of these fields?

Marketing/PR number 2! I don’t drink coffee but maybe that will change when I graduate in May and enter the real world.

I knew scientist and/lab technicians would be number one. I lived off coffee and energy drinks when I worked the bench. I still do. It amuses me that every job for which I qualify is on the list.

Some of those terms are pretty vague. Government professional? There are any number of jobs that could be encompassed in that. Soldier? Politician? Message runner? Same with “skilled tradesperson”. That could be anything from a hair dresser to a plumber.
Human Resources Benefits Director seemed oddly specific, in that list. I do HR, but I’m not a benefits director. And I rarely drink coffee.

I have to admit, number 1 fits. I’m only in grad school but my classmates drink a lot of coffee.

I still think my profession drink the most coffee, since I’m in the coffee roasting business. xD

But, I hate coffee so.. I won’t have to worry about that. ^_^
