I’m so excited for this upcoming cold weather that I’ve already busted out my favorite winter fabric: flannel! It’s so warm, cozy and just perfect. Truth is, I’ve been rocking the flannel shirts for awhile now… and after seeing all of the cute new flannel shirts in for fall, I’m proud to continue to channel my inner Garth Algar.
Another thing I love about flannel shirts is that they’re not only very versatile (and super comfy), but they’re also pretty easy to find and relatively inexpensive. I see tons of flannel at Forever 21, vintage shops, Target, Urban Outfitters… and it’s usually relatively cheap, considering that I will wear most of them year-after-year. Normally I would try to avoid paying around $50-70 for a shirt, but considering that I will probably wear it for many seasons to come, it turns a splurge into more of an investment, right?
Check out the gallery for some of my favorite flannel/plaid pairings!
Do you rock the flannel shirts every fall/winter? How do you wear flannel?

I love flannel pajama pants. I haven’t seen that many flannel pajama pants in stores yet. It might be too soon. They are definitely comfy for the winter season. Along with flannel sheets as bedding. Ha!
I like flannel button up tops. I got two last winter at Target, and they were on sale. Mostly I pair a plain t-shirt underneath the flannel top. And I’ll wear blue jeans, and converse shoes. Sometimes, I pair it with some costume jewelry.

I used to live in flannel button ups in middle school. Definitely need to get one cozy one for the NYC winter. I really like the flannel shirt in the 4th photo.

These items basically sum up my go-to outfit in the fall/winter
Just throw a leather jacket and a chunky knit scarf on it and you’re good to go!

We all have an inner Garth! I like flannel. Reminds me of my dad.
I’m trying to figure out how to wear dresses when it gets cold…I’ve recently decided all I ever want to wear again is dresses because they are so. damn. comfy. and LIBERATING! I would love to throw a flannel shirt in there too..

@Manic_Butterflies@xanga - that could work. leggings + dress + flannel shirt.

I have a bunch. I guess for variety. Considering a switch to more wool things for winter, though.
