The world blows my mind every day. You may not believe these photographs aren’t photo shopped, but since they supposedly aren’t, let’s take some time to appreciate these amazingly giant creatures. Like the coconut crab (above) that gets it’s name from it’s ability to crack coconut shells with it’s giant claws, these animals are not to be messed with.
The Giant African Snail (above) has been found illegally in the United States (in Hawaii, Michigan, and Ohio) and can contain parasites that cause meningitis. Apparently, teachers have used them in science experiments without realizing their illegality. Yikes! Browse the gallery to see bunnies as big as dogs and bats as big as people.
What do you think of these freakishly giant creatures?

A lot of these pictures look like they look big because of perspective. The picture of the flying fox is especially misleading. Yes, they are big, but the perspective of the picture makes it look almost as big as the guy. Definitely not, because he is much farther away from the camera. Neat, though.

That saltwater crocodile is the stuff my nightmares are made of.

You can see the giant salamander alive in Karlsruhe (Germany, west, near the french border). She is SO marvellous.

Lol the coconut crab is just funny. It’s like a giant hermit crab with no shell.

When you take a picture with a camera, it is not the same way as your eyes function. You can place something closer to the camera lens and if it’s perfectly focused, it can appear as big as the focused objects in the background. That’s the purpose of digital cameras today is to focus everything.
That bat, for instance, is nowhere near as big as the man seen in the background – or show me a video where the camera lens moves around so someone can get a feeling of depth to the scene with that large bat, then I’ll believe it.
Some of the other photos however – I’m not so sure they are trickery.
