Rising star Lena Dunham has a lot to be proud of. She acts, writes and directs her own successful HBO show (the oft-talked about Girls) that was nominated for four Emmys. She’s also acted in, written and directed a critically-acclaimed, feature-length film called Tiny Furniture. While these may not be huge credentials for someone in the TV/movie business, they’re an awfully big deal when it comes to Dunham…considering she’s only 26. But sometimes the quirky sensibilities Dunham’s projects get praise for manifest themselves in her wardrobe, and it’s not always good. For example: this seemingly-bottomless number that has style critics talking.

OK, I suppose you can see some short-shorts in this shot, meaning Dunham didn’t forget to put on bottoms, as it first appears. But that’s exactly the problem: at first glance, it looks like she walked out the door missing a very key partner to any top. People should be gasping at your outfit, not at the possibility that you aren’t wearing anything over your undies. Also, those shoes: cute, but not a match. Sorry Lena, this is a miss!

What do you think of this outfit? Hit or miss?
