I do not know Drew Barrymore, nor do I devotedly follow her (or anyone else) in the tabloids. Yet when I found out she was pregnant, the small celebrity-obsessed part of me got way excited. I mean, who can’t picture Drew being a great, adorable mom? And turns out the big day has come and gone: Barrymore welcomed her first child into the world last Wednesday, September 26. Here’s the standard short and sweet “we’re famous and we just had a baby” public statement:
We are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, born September 26th, healthy, happy and welcomed by the whole family. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this most special time in our lives.”
