What’s this? Could it be? Another argument against blonde-dom? As if the golden-haired women of our lifetime don’t already have enough negative stereotypes attached to them solely for their follicular anatomy. Let’s dissect this new study that claims blonde-haired women are more likely to be unfaithful harlots! Maybe we can learn a thing or two about defining studies through nuanced statistics.

Well not only are you dumb, but you also have a cold, cold heart that’s ripe for disgrace. According to Cheaterville, an aptly named social media site for all things cheatery, you outnumber your darker-haired friends by a huge margin for likely unfaithful activity. Are you ready for the stats? They are pretty entertaining, on account of all the loose ends.

Via Examiner:

42% of females posted as alleged cheaters have blonde hair, while red (23%), brown (20%), and black (11%) came in second, third and fourth respectively.

The blonde-haired men fared better than their female counterparts. Turns out brunette and black-haired males top the list of likely cheaters, while blonde came in a far third.

Oh, good! Cheaterville acknowledges that its “study” is loosely based from slim statistics and its case is purely anecdotal. First off, the results are based on the descriptions of cheaters reported by their scorned lovers. So these are alleged cheaters, not openly admitted cheaters. They also did not address this small issue of HAIR DYE, permanent, semi- or demi-. Nor did the website factor in that some members have a total lack of hair.

However, Cheaterville founder James McGibney stands by his website’s findings: “From Veronica vs. Betty to Ginger vs. Mary Anne, we’ve always favored one look over another. But now our research gives us a tempting look at how hair color might play a role in infidelity, and that’s nothing to brush off.”

Eh, I’m not buying it. The impetus to cheat is based on many factors circling in the cheater’s mind, not what’s coating it on the outside. Why is there an itch among researchers to over-analyze the actions of individuals based on cosmetic determinants? Next thing we know, Cheaterville will release another hard-hitting study suggesting women with pointy noses are more likely to cheat with co-workers. Nose jobs be damned!
