Most of us would it consider it a dream come true to attend a glamorous fashion show in NYC or Paris. Beautiful clothes, celebrities, parties–what’s not to love? Well, apparently getting to see some of the most prestigious collections in the world isn’t enough to lure celebs to Milan or Paris.

We constantly see them in the front row, but for certain famous people, it’s only because they’re getting paid to be there.

I always assumed that celebrities went to fashion shows to see clothes (and maybe get some attention at the same time). However, I never thought that designers actually paid celebrities to sit in their front rows. So just how much do they rake in to attend a fashion show?

Rihanna was reportedly paid $97,500 to attend Karl Lagerfeld’s fall 2012 show, while Jessica Chastain apparently made $800,000 to take pictures at last year’s Armani Prive show. Beyonce makes $100,000 per show, while Blake Lively and Kim Kardashian command $50,000 and Chloe Sevigny makes $65,000.

It may seem like all celebs are making money to attend fashion shows, but thankfully that’s not the case. Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman never take money to sit front row and others attend because they simply love and want to support the brand. I’m glad that there are celebs who stay grounded and don’t give in to this stupid practice. I think it’s ridiculous that a celebrity is paid more than what most people make in a year to attend one event, especially when all they have to do is dress up, take a few pictures and then watch a fashion show. I mean, I’d do that for free.

Do you think it’s wrong that celebrities get paid to attend fashion shows? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below!
