We recently heard about one super-romantic dude who faked his own death in order to propose to his girlfriend. And now another gent has taken the act one step further, by making his lady think they were about to die right before popping the question! So is this adorable, or just plain sadistic? Watch a video of the proposal and let us know!
Honestly, I’m torn. It was pretty clever, the way he set everything up. But it was also so mean and kiiind of sociopathic. “At that moment, I genuinely thought something was wrong with the plane, and that we were going to crash,” his now-fiancee said. But it seems that she was nowhere near as perturbed as I would be. “I was never angry, not even for a second.” I guess his plan, scary as it was, worked just fine! [via Gawker]
What do you think of this proposal method?

My husband of 30 years says there are some questions you don’t ask unless you already know the answer. This guy obviously “knows” his fiance pretty well. Lets hope that he knows her well enough that it continues thruoughout their married life.

This is incredibly manipulative. I feel sorry for the woman.

I thought this one was better than the fake death one…At least she only had a few seconds of “OH CRAP” and even then, it wasn’t like she actually thought they were going to die yet.

Why are so many people pulling off elaborate schemes to propose? Do women not like the guy on one knee, expressing his love anymore? I’m not impressed by crazy tactics. When people get married for the right reasons, and work hard on their relationships, I will be impressed.

I would never go onto a small airplane in my life again… For my 10th BIRTHDAY, my friends dad took us on a ride on his small airplane and nose dived it 2 times. I am screaming thinking I am going to die.. I’m probably traumatized now because of that incident. Should have sued the fuck out of that man….

He had to fuck with her emotions to get her to say ‘yes’? I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to answer important questions under duress, nor ask people such questions while they’re in duress. *Not amused*

I thought that was cute
. Watching the video, it doesn’t really seem like he’s trying to get her to believe that they’re about to die, it’s not like he was making the plane plummet or anything!

I think that’s awesome! Personally, I find the cliche down on one knee thing BORING! This is definitely 10x more interesting and anyone who is ballsy enough to do that deserves a yes. haha

@emptyabyss@xanga - It seems like a lot of “clever” proposals are manipulative.
It obviously didn’t upset her, but I would not have been into that.

People always freak out, but he wouldn’t have done it if he didn’t know she’d be okay with it.
