Would you pay $50 to be tortured for 20 minutes?

Surprisingly, lots of people would! “Blackout Haunted House” has been deemed the most terrorizing haunted house experience in the country, and it sells out every year. But it’s no run-of-the-mill, jumpy haunted house — Blackout forces it’s patrons into uncomfortable and downright-sickening scenes. The worst part? You have to go entirely alone.

Perhaps the experience is best summed up by it’s reviews like this one (from Flavorpill blog):

Here’s the thing: you may think you have absolutely no taboos, but Blackout will find them. After being immersed in rules and regulations, and signing away your very life, you’ll be thrown, literally, into absolute darkness, at which point the terror begins. Sexual violation? Abuse? Torture? Nothing is off limits for the insane carnival of Blackout, the only haunted house we know of where the only way to make it through is to allow physical contact with the actors themselves. It vacillates between off-putting and terrifying…

No one under 18 years old is allowed, and everyone who wishes to enter must sign a waiver that gives Blackout’s actors rights to do just about anything to them. Pushing, shoving, licking, gagging and even waterboarding are all common occurrences. And — stop reading if you get squeamish! I warned you!! — one reviewer even reported having being forced to put a used tampon in his mouth.

Speaking inside is prohibited, except for a safety word that allows you to leave if things get to be too much for you (but you get no refund).

And you thought your local gym’s haunted house was bad.

I don’t want to give too much away (you know, in case this glowing review has encouraged you to give it a shot), but Blackout is less of a “haunted house” and more of a sadistic, violently-sexual torture chamber.

And yet… I kinda wanna try it.

What do you Lovelies think??
