I can’t believe that it’s been almost 25 years since Full House made its debut! I remember watching this show at my grandmother’s house and laughing along with the audience at Uncle Joey‘s many impersonations and swooning over Uncle Jesse and his band. The cast actually got together to celebrate the 25-year milestone, but Mary-Kate and Ashley didn’t show.
While Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Lori Loughlin (Becky Katsopolis), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), and Scott Weinger (Steve Hale), rocked out to some NKOTB, ate a cake modeled after their iconic Victorian San Francisco home and read scenes from past episodes, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were probably too busy to attend.
Why Michelle?! Whyyyy? EW.com has some possible reasons:
They were exhausted from running their $1 billion fashion empire: The winners of this year’s Council of Fashion Designers of America award for top womenswear designers were probably taking an extended break after NYFW. Their spring collection for The Row received rave reviews and it takes time to fully recover from full-fledged fashion frenzy… Duh!
Mary-Kate had to babysit: The actress, 26, had to watch her 42-year-old boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy’s preteen. Can you say stepmother of the year?
The girls were sampling scents for their new fragrance: Although it’s projected to launch in March 2014, Mary-Kate and Ashley wanted to get a head start on creating their signature scent for their Elizabeth and James label. It’s going to be hard to top their 2003 perfume, but may we suggest the use of tears of belladonna or crushed heart of tiger orchidea?
They were afraid the cast would ask them to say their catch phrase: How may times can they say “you got it dude” before it becomes annoying? Never. The answer is never.
Elizabeth wanted to tag along: The twins didn’t want to be overshadowed by their younger sister. Again. Doesn’t Liz have a movie to promote, anyway? [via EW]
While they obviously have a lot going on, it’s just as important to take a little time to see some old familiar faces and take a trip down Memory Lane, right? And there was cake there! I could never turn down free cake and NKOTB tunage, but that’s just me.
What do you think, Lovelies? Were they probably just too busy?

Maybe they just didn’t want to go!

I always seem to think the twins try to distance themselves from the role that made them famous. I mean they dont owe their lives to full house but they should be grateful for what the show did for them. They’re basically the biggest success that came from the show. I liked the twins before they started making clothes no one can afford.

@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - The Row is a couture label, what do you expect? Couture isn’t made for the ordinary person. They also have a more affordable fashion range called Olsenboye as well.

I think we should just respect that they didn’t want to go or couldn’t go and leave it at that. I sometimes think that the Olsen twins regret being put in the spot light. It’s a lot of pressure. Stars don’t have it as easy as we think, just because they have money.

Maybe they didn’t want to go. It is their right not to go. Sitcom actors/actress elect to skip out on reunions all the time.

Maybe they didn’t want to be around Bob Saget.

@youarethepretender@xanga - Yes I know but it’s their couture clothes that cause the most controversy because of fur use & stuff. I mean I’m not all PETA crazy like some but I do agree fur is unnecessary in these times. Besides, the synthetic material is cheaper.
I think I just like the stuff they did as teenagers better. Back when they had stuff in Walmart, do you remember those? I love the lip gloss & stuff!
