Well, iOS6 hasn’t even been available on the iPhone for more than a week, and from my personal experience, the Maps app is sucking pretty hard. In fact, it sucks so hard that there is already a Tumblr dedicated to its suckage.
My iPhone 4 has been running a little slow lately, so when I saw that the new operating system was available, I downloaded it immediately. It’s pretty common for the first new operating system to have a few bugs in it, which is why they will release updates every now and then to fix the little glitches. I get it. But I’m really hoping this new Maps app isn’t here to stay. My boyfriend and I travel pretty often, so when we’re on the road, we rely on our phones (my iPhone and his Android) to navigate us through these unfamiliar waters.
I haven’t tried it while we’re on the road just yet, but I’m already thinking that I will just use Google Maps instead. I’ve even found a nifty article that describes all the third-party apps you can use instead of the updated app. I hate to write this new update off so quickly, because it actually has a lot of really cool new features, but it did lead me to a retirement home instead of the new Indian restaurant that I wanted to try on Tuesday night. I can’t have it interfering with my never-ending quest for food.
iPhone-using Lovelies, have you updated your iPhone yet? Will you be getting the new iPhone 5? Has the navigation system on your phone/in your car ever completely failed you?

I finally got my first iPhone in July and ended up going with the 4 because it was less expensive and I didn’t really want/need Siri. The navigation app that was already loaded on here was okay, but I much prefer the MapQuest app since it gives you spoken turn-by-turn directions.
I haven’t upgraded to iOS 6 yet since I’m really lazy and haven’t gotten around to doing it yet, and I certainly don’t plan on getting the iPhone 5 anytime soon considering I JUST got the 4 and my Otterbox case clearly won’t fit on the 5.

I updated it but I never use the maps app anyway.
I definitely won’t be getting the new iPhone because I just got my first one (4s) in April and I’d rather wait to upgrade my phone until it’s actually necessary.
I have been led astray with my Garmin before but I probably needed to update my maps.
