It’s hard to imagine that a pillow case or a sock would be good for anything other than putting over your pillow or keeping your feet warm, but these, in addition to many other regular household items, can be used for so much more.
*Bonus: Reusing items for other purposes is better for your wallet and the environment!
Paper Plates: Use them to prevent scratching on dishware by placing them in between plates or pans when stacked
Pillowcase: Cut a hole at the closed end and place over a hanger to store coats or special occasion wear. Unlike plastic, the pillowcase won’t hold moisture that causes mildew
Shower Caps: Place shower caps over bottoms of shoes before packing them into your suitcase to avoid getting the rest of your items dirty
Sticky Note: Run the sticky side through the keys on your computer or laptop to get rid of those annoying crumbs and hard to get dust
Buttons: Put your earrings through the holes in a button to keep them together in your jewelry box
Rubber gloves: When your super strength is failing you, grab a rubber glove and use it to help open a jar lid
Newspaper: Clean leather shoes by rubbing, no polish needed! Make sure to use only the black and white pages, not the colored ones
Drinking Straw: Put soft stems through straw before placing in a vase to keep them upright
Socks: Use them to pad breakable items when moving
Eyeglasses Case: Store headphones or jewelry when packing a suitcase or on the go
