Buttery pastries and sugar loaded coffee drinks are what come to mind when we think of Starbucks. For Christine Hall, the franchise was anything but. After deciding to make a change in her life and lose weight from her 5’4″, 200 pound body, she began purchasing and eating all of her meals from the Starbucks next to her work building.

In the morning, she would have a coffee (no sugar or syrup added) and oatmeal. Then for lunch and dinner, she would eat a bistro box containing fruit and cheese and a panini. One aspect that drew her to this self-made diet was the calorie counts marked on every item behind the glass counter. Knowing exactly how many calories she was consuming everyday, which was about 876 for the first few months, resulted in an astonishing weight loss of 40 pounds from May to December of 2010.

In the two years since then, she has lost an additional 40 pounds putting her at 114 pounds!

Although this diet plan has brought positive results to Christine, many health professionals do not agree with it because of its lack of variety and minimal amount of caloric intake. Too much of the same foods everyday will not give your body the nutrients that it needs to truly be healthy.

Whatever your opinion may be of this Starbucks diet plan, the dedication that Christine put forth during these last few years is inspiring. In a place full of 700 calorie drinks and 490 calorie muffins, it takes a lot of will power to walk past them and go for the fruit instead.

What do you think of Christine’s Starbucks Diet? What other crazy diet plans have you heard of or taken part in?
