Lovelies, did you know that brushing alone misses 75 percent of your mouth, leaving millions of germs behind?! Ack!
Some of you are probably thinking “Yeah, well, I brush my teeth enough and that seems to do it for me… I don’t have time to floss.” That was also my opinion of brushing/flossing/rinsing about six months ago. Unfortunately, brushing alone doesn’t do anything to prevent tartar buildup in between your teeth and beneath your gumline. The only thing that will do the trick and prevent Periodontitis (when bacteria gets into your gums and causes your teeth to eventually loosen and fall out) is flossing at least once a day. After several recent trips to the dentist and several hundreds of dollars that I’ve just spent on deep cleaning to remove the plaque and tartar buildup, you bet that I’m flossing at least once a day from now on.
To be honest, I never really thought that my teeth looked that bad at all until they showed me the pictures and x-rays. It was pretty horrifying. It cleared up the skin around my mouth, my frequent headaches stopped and I never in a million years thought it had anything to do with keeping my teeth and mouth clean.
Don’t ever think that it’s too late to start an oral care routine! Once I began flossing and rinsing, along with brushing twice a day, the dentist told me that the problems were starting to clear up already – within a matter of weeks!
We’re really excited to partner with Listerine to bring you this week’s giveaway. We’re giving away one “Your Mouth Matters” prize pack to encourage readers to begin (if you haven’t already) an oral care routine. Brushing, flossing and rinsing are healthy habits for maximum health and beauty.

my favorite is melaleuca’s tooth polish — it takes some time to get used to the taste (because of the tea tree oil) but my teeth feel so clean afterwards

Crest glamorous whitening toothpaste. It has a nice taste, though not sure if it is good at whitening. :/ And I had no idea that headaches are linked to bad oral hygiene. I always thought it was because of allergies. I should talk to my dentist about this.

I’m not sure what brand it is but I loved the dark blue sparkly kind when I was a kid but the only time I had it was when I brought home some from the dentist. I also liked when Crest (I think) had the different flavors and Emeril did the commercials.
