Kawaii images are incredibly cute 99% of the time. I mean, just look at this Google image search if you need any evidence. See? There’s a reason my cell phone background gets filled with smiling sushi or animated kittens several times a year.
But sometimes those big eyes and sparkles can get a bit weird when paired with the wrong thing. For example: these photos of celebrities with kawaii eyes drawn on them. While some of these shots are kind of cute, others are just plain creepy. Check out the gallery and let us know which are which!

How is this cute???? It’s frightening. Anything that looks like that heading toward in a dark alley or in broad daylight means to do you harm and you should run and hope their eyeball powers can’t reach you.

I guess I’m used to it, but I tend to see Asians rockin’ the Kawaii-style. For example, Psy of Gangnam Style fame is Korean, and he sort of has the Kawaii look in that pic. Most Kawaii-style tend to be Asian girls, though.

This is just a note to those readers who might not know what “kawaii” means. It’s Japanese for: cute, adorable, charming, sweet, etc. As a translator of manga, I absolutely, positively despise the word, not only because weeaboos have glomped onto it, but also because it’s a bitch and a half to translate properly.
