I’ve been seeing embroidered slippers everywhere lately, and they can be so expensive! Blogger Jessica Quirk made her own on her blog What I Wore, and it turns out, it’s super easy!
Don’t let the embroidery thing scare you; this is surprisingly pretty easy to do, and you can embroider your slippers with just about anything you want! Below are the instructions for the fox and for more detailed instructions, visit Jessica’s blog!
Supplies:
- Slippers (Jessica’s are Merona from Target for $20)
- Black, White and Orange Felt
- Black, White and at least 3 shades of Orange Floss
- Scissors
- Needle
- Hot Glue Gun
- A pattern of what you’d like to embroider (Jessica used this one!)
Simply trace the pattern onto your felt and flip it over the hide the pen marks.
Once that your embroidery is complete, you can cut out your fox face with a 1/4” to 1/8” border. BE CAREFUL! You can always trim it up, but you can’t add back!
Finally, apply your fox patches to your slippers. Jessica whip-stitched her foxes onto her shoes, and used hot glue (very sparingly) to affix the remainder.
They look amazing! I can’t wait to try this little project this weekend! [via WhatIWore]
