Dressing up with a partner can be incredibly fun, and can allow for a lot more imagination. But sometimes, the results are just far too awkward for words.
Let me just start off by say these yipyip costumes (apparently that’s what those buggers from Sesame Street are called!) are really frickin’ cooooool…
I’m normally not one for couple costumes, myself. Halloween’s one of my favorite holidays, so a lot of the time I want total costume control. But I think it’s something that every couple should try at least once, just for funsies. My boyfriend and I have definitely tossed around the idea of dressing up as Gomez and Morticia Addams for Halloween, but nothing’s been determined yet. The idea of dressing up as something classy with my partner is really nice. And following that idea can produce some really great results…
But then again, couple costumes can turn out really awful and awkward too:
Yeeeeah, NO. But I assembled both the best and worst I could find for your own personal inspiration, Lovelies. Enjoy! And please, tell us your stories of participating in this Halloween tradition! Just so I know what to do if my boyfriend changes is mind and proposes we go as Pac-Men…
Have you ever worn a couples-themed costume? Any advice for people thinking of doing this?

Hahaha I love the first one. My boyfriend and I aren’t doing a “couples” costume, per se, but we’re going dressed in the same theme. He’s going to be Jesse from Breaking Bad and I get to bust out my sweet Halloween makeup skills to go as Gus at the end of season 4

@ask_ashleyyy@xanga - That sounds AMAZING. You should submit photos afterward! I would love to see that!
Also, so many of these are SO cute it’s killing me. I love them!

lol! The boob couple amuses me. And the ones with the plug outlet is definitely awkward. I like the bun in the oven couple for its cuteness. I have never been able to get my significant other to wear a couples costume. He’d rather do his own thing.

@heart_leigh@xanga - I know, I love the bun-in-the-over costume. I should find more pictures of pregnancy costumes. Would you guys read that?

I love the Mary Poppins & Bert one! So cute!
I’m not gonna dress up this year because I’m going through maternity clothes like crazy so I decided to get a Halloween maternity shirt that says “I grow people, what’s your superpower?”. I like a few others but they’re $27+ each so I might cap it at 3 shirts.

Barbie & Ken takes the cake & the tooth fairy and a tooth I’m on the fence about. I don’t know if it’s cute yet.

Love the Alice and White Rabbit one, the boobs are HILARIOUS, Mary Poppins is good (even though I’ve never seen that movie), and Wall-E is adorable.

BOOBIES!! lmao!
Me and my ex went as Jack and Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas in 2010. That was pretty cool. And messy too though, lol. I have super long hair, so I couldn’t do a wig. I just used those spray cans of red dye, and it took MONTHS to come completely out, haha. But, we still looked amazing that night!

Hmm…. guess I deleted the ones with the ex in it….
But that’s what I looked like.

The Alice in Wonderland one is amazing. I really want to go as Alice/Hatter from Syfy’s Alice or Rumbelle from Once Upon A Time- yes, I say Rumbelle because I am a fangirl.

The Wall-E one is adorable.
