I had no idea how much fun and how customizable my beauty products could be until I started experimenting in the kitchen.
Like many of you lovelies out there, I’d prefer to keep as many chemicals out of my beauty regimen as possible, and I’d like to do it on the cheap.
” Organic beauty products can be way expensive and sometimes, in my opinion, a total joke. Since my skin is oily and occasionally break-out prone, antibacterial cleansers (with honey) and toners (with lemons!) are my personal favorites. However, depending on your skin tone, you can incorporate yogurt, sugar, oatmeal and even eggs into your beauty routine. My personal top three choices are:
Lemons are an amazing beauty aid. Not only are they cleansing for us on the inside, but lemons contain enzymes that help slough off dead skin. Mix lemon juice and water for a refreshing toner that banishes excess oils and makes you feel so fresh and so clean clean. Don’t use this natural cure too much though or it will dry out your skin!
2. Baking Soda
Baking soda is amazing, ya’ll. It’s uses for home and beauty are endless: Mixed with a little hydrogen peroxide, it can be your tooth whitener (do this infrequently to protect the enamel on your teeth). When your skin acts all cray, a three-part mixture of lemons, water, and baking soda as an exfoliating scrub/mask can be a savior. Baking soda can also take the place of deodorant. Just use a blush brush and dab a little under your arms and boom! Goodbye, stinkiness! The list doesn’t end here, check out 50 more uses for this amazing, beauty magic.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
Do you love luxurious baths as much as I do? Adding apple cider vinegar to your bath leaves your skin silky smooth, removing toxins and helping to rid dry or excess skin cells. Get out of that bath feeling like you just spent $100 at a spa.. but you didn’t, so feel even better.
Have you tried any of these products as a beauty aid? What are your go-to kitchen beauty products?
