Over the summer, we saw many beauty trends emerge and come to life on celebrities and common gals alike. While these trends were cute and unique for a few months, they are just about to the point of exhaustion and should be replaced with something new.
Here are the beauty trends that I think should be retired and replaced:
False lashes
Sure, long eyelashes are ultra feminine..when they are natural. False lashes should be saved for special events, not for everyday trips to the grocery store or the mall. Don’t be afraid to go natural! Even if you think nobody will notice that your lashes are fake, trust me, someone WILL notice.
Ombre hair
I personally never liked this trend even when it began; who would purposely dye their hair to make it look like their roots are showing?! Whatever your opinion is on this particular trend, it’s had its day.
One nail different color
This trend was cute because it allowed girls to mix and match to their liking, but now it seems a little immature. Think about what a potential employer would think of you if you showed up with this trend; not very professional and now that EVERYONE is doing it, it’s no longer unique either.
Hair extensions
Extensions go along the same lines as the false lashes. There is nothing wrong with going natural! If you are attending a wedding or a huge party and you feel like you need a little extra something, fine. Other than that, hair extensions should not be a part of your everyday routine.
Anything with YOLO on it
I love Drake just as much as the next girl, but this acronym seems to have caused more bad than good. Living life to the fullest is one thing, but splattering it on your wardrobe is just wrong.
What trends are you Lovelies tired of seeing and which ones are you excited about trying this Fall?

I don’t think false lashes are a trend, I think they are a standard requirement for a “full face.” (for a lot of people, not all people) Basically anyone on TV who is female wears false lashes.
Also no way will people notice you are using fake lashes if you use the natural ones (except other false lash wearers), although I prefer the giant noticeable kind.

I like the ‘do one nail another color’ thing.

Yeahh I’m still gonna do the one nail different thing. I don’t have a professional job yet and I’m still in school. And even if I did, as long as my nails weren’t like neon or something obnoxious, I don’t think it’s something an employer would get upset over.

I only used false lashes on special occasions, but for the past couple of months I’ve been doing the whole eyelash extension thing and I’m hooked.
I think I’m going to try the burgundy color on my lips. I like how it looks dramatic without it being too dramatic like red.

I agree with the ombre hair (looks like you’re too lazy/cheap to do the upkeep on your colored hair) and YOLO trends (just silly to me). Those need to go. I happen to like the way false lashes look, when done right. Lash strips that are too long and too thick look unnatural nor flattering.
Trends I am not fond of:
* Multicolored pastel hair.
* Overly done eyebrows–I like full brows, but c’mon. I don’t care how talented one is in drawing in brows but “filling in” 2 tiny lines into full, lush brows doesn’t look natural. It is one thing to fatten them up a bit, but to draw completely new BIG brows…* Baby pink lipstick on grown women, such as the lip color on the first photo in the post. It looks weird to me.

You picked the ugliest example of an accent nail, for one thing. And I like it. You could even make it work in a professional setting, perhaps with very soft, muted tones or neutrals. And I like it. I work in a setting where it’s okay to paint my nails in any sort of crazy color I want, and I like to take advantage of that.

I never understood false eyelashes. I really don’t want to glue shit to/around my eyes

@ask_ashleyyy@xanga - Me neither!!! I’ve never done it and have no interest in it at all.

Sorry, but I’m missing the point on the whole “YOLO” thing. Some elaboration, please?

I agree with most of what you have written. I tried false eyelashes once and they felt awful on, I just use mascara now. I actually think nails are a way that people express themselves, there are so many different colours and patterns, it kind of seems like the one thing that has no rules and people wear different colours to suit their moods.
I rarely use nail polish because I always end up chipping it off again but if I were in the kind of mood to experiment. I think that I would do every other nail because then there wouldn’t be just one nail painted and looking all like the odd one out or like I ran out of the nail polish that I was using and had no nail varnish remover. o_O.
I use to be a fan of hair extensions but they hurt my head and getting them put in was so painful. I cannot be bothered with it all anymore. I use to wear falsies, hair extensions and tan. I have not worn any of those things since getting into a relationship because the guy I am with makes me feel accepted and loved for who I am. I feel so much happier without them and save a lot of money too.
Roots is something I always tried to avoid when I was a blonde. I do not get why people suddenly want them lol! As far as YOLO goes I have no comment because I had never even heard of it until now.

I never heard of ombre hair until just now but for some reason I like it on Drew Barrymore. But generally, yes, it seems ridiculous.
The whole one nail thing is just ehh to me. Not worth spending the extra money on.I would never have the patience for hair extensions and I dunno how I’d feel about wearing fake hair. Just commit to growing it instead.

I like accent nails and they are not limited to just one or even different polish. I typically do my ring finger and my thumb and most of the time it’s art, not different polish. but just like everything else on this list, you are going to have people that like them, people that don’t and people that will now do them just because someone said not to. Save that YOLO crud, that acronym needs to go. Seriously.

Thank you! I am so sick of Yolo and ombre hair. Both are so stupid i just want to smack the people I see that are splashing these trends everywhere. I haven’t seen the nail one in person yet but I hope I don’t. I’m very ocd so seeing that would drive me nuts

i. hate. YOLO!! it’s so annoying. the one nail color was always ugly to me, but i like the root showing trend. i don’t know why

Posts like these annoy me. The only thing I agree with is the YOLO trend. Other than that, you picked the worst picture you could find of each “trend.”
Dramatic looks work when done correctly, not everyone wants to look “natural.”

@ask_ashleyyy@xanga - I agree. And, my eye lashes/eye brows are blonde sooo… i would look ridiculous.
