One day, I will have kids of my own. I’ll stop going out drinking with my friends or to all-night dance parties for Halloween. I’ll stop making cocktails with boysenberry juice (“Poisonberry,” if you will). I won’t dress up like a Spice Girl and I won’t run around in a leotard. But when that day comes, I will probably have even more fun because I’ll be able to make my kid an incredibly awesome Halloween costume.

The kids in this gallery obviously have fantastic parents with a lot of dedication; some of these clearly took a ton of time and construction. Others were simple, but no less great ideas. In fact, I would say these kids are dressed better than most of the adults I know on Halloween

Omg.

The only two I found a bit questionable as kid costumes were the Dark Knight’s version of the Joker and Alex from A Clockwork Orange. Don’t get me wrong, I love both of those films, and I’m a huge fan of ACO as a book. But the Joker killed quite a few people in that film; of course, he’s a comic book character so I’m a less little weirded out by a kid dressing up as him. I’m much more opposed to dressing a kid as Alex DeLarge, a psychopathic teenager with no empathy who rapes and murders people. A bit over the top for a 5-year-old, but Halloween is all about creative expression and of course, it’s up to the parents to make that decision.

Nevertheless, these costumes are all interesting and the kids make ‘em adorable, so take a look!

Lovelies, what do you all think about these Halloween costumes? Do any of them stand out (for better or worse) to you?
