If you’re like me, you think Halloween is where it’s at! There is a certain beauty and fascination with being someone (or something) else for just a day. As a lover of DIY and craft, I always find vintage costumes to be the most inspirational. My personal favorite era for Halloween was the 1930′s; the resourcefulness of depression era folks brought out an amazing array of costume creations. Unlike many modern ensembles, a look into our Halloween past reveals a beautiful (and sometimes terrifying) creativity and cleverness.
I genuinely wish there were at least three Halloweens in a year but since we only get one, we must make that day count! It can be overwhelming to find the perfect costume, so take a look-see through my vintage costume picks and get inspired. BTW, I totally have dibs on the spiderweb costume above!
What are you going to be for Halloween, Lovelies? Are you inspired by vintage costumes? Feel free to share your Halloween ideas with us!

I made a peacock costume for last year but didn’t really have a chance to wear it, so this year I will go as a peacock again.

Plastic masks prior to the late 70s were completely frightening. THESE sayTrick or Treat…Either way, I’m going to kill you.

@Kim - Oh wow, that’s one intense costume! Haha, my tail doesn’t stand up though – but perhaps I’ll try making such a costume
