When Amanda Bynes first got into trouble for drinking and driving, it was a little weird. After all, who would have expected the crazy-but-loveable actress from Nickelodeon to have a run-in with the law? But it wasn’t exactly surprising or shocking; after all, we’ve all seen a huge number of ex-child stars have their own legal problems.
But then things started to get really weird. Bynes was caught recklessly driving again. And again. And again. And again. And…again. And soon we were all crossing our fingers, hoping that this wasn’t another Lohan situation. But judging by photos snapped yesterday of Bynes apparently doing drugs while driving with a suspended license, she may be headed that way. Check them out here and let us know what you think!
Paparazzi who were following Bynes yesterday claimed that she was driving “aimlessly for hours.” Which is illegal, due to her suspended license. They also snapped this photo of her smoking what looks suspiciously like a drug pipe while at the wheel:

Ohhh, Amanda. Please take care of yourself! I’m not one of those folks who is going to clutch her pearls over weed smoking, but it can’t be good for someone who has had so many law problems to be doing it in public. And driving. With a suspended license. I know it’s human nature to gawk at characters like this, but frankly I don’t want to hear about Bynes having a slip-up ever again. Hopefully we don’t! [via Gawker, TMZ]

Remember everyone, if you are famous you can get away with things like this. If any of us had a DUI, three hit and runs and were caught driving on a suspended license we’d be in jail. Must be nice to be above the law, eh?

Haha Amanda’s wild ride is what it says on one of the photos. Yes driving and smoking weed, what a wild ride that must of been. Talk about being over dramatic! I agree she shouldn’t be doing it but it’s not like she was completely out of her mind and not comprehending things.

Not that I am condoning people driving under the influence. The title of this post is a bit hyperbolic. I thought she was smoking meth/PCP/crack and was driving like a maniac.

@Rebekka Wilkinson@facebook - Don’t get me wrong, I don’t agree with driving under the influence of any sort of drug or alcohol as my cousin was chased down and ran over by a drunk driver, he ended up killing her. However I also thought because of the title she was smoking a crack pipe and driving erratically.

While I don’t really care remotely about pot in general, I am really irritated about the fact that I know so many people, even in CA where it’s legal, who have gone to jail either briefly or for a year (and there are tons of others for way longer) for weed, yet celebrities can do it over and over and over and ALWAYS get probation.
Grumble grumble.

Lame jokes aside, I think judges and cops (like the dork who let her off for driving around with a suspended license and no headlights on at night…what…) who let celebrities get away with stupid stuff are actually putting their lives in danger as well as everyone else on the road with them. Will it take someone who’s not famous getting killed by some reckless celebrity before they actually realize how stupid this double standard is?

@LondonsMommy@momaroo - I honestly don’t think they think about it. It’s like how constant pressure becomes easy to ignore, like how a belt is uncomfortable at first but eventually you can ignore it. For awhile I’m sure they’re aware of people watching them but eventually they push it out of their mind, you know?
