It’s always funny when you realize you’ve seen celebrities long ago without realizing it, like as cartoon characters or in old Jell-O commercials. It’s especially snazzy when you realized you’ve unintentionally watched a person’s career blossom by seeing them with small parts in older films and television; now, they’re huge stars. For example, Mr. Gosling up there — whose 90s roles all seemed to require the same haircut — starred in Fox Kids’ short-lived series “Young Hercules.” Check out others you might not have guessed.
Ryan Gosling (again!) – Remember the Titans
Michelle Williams - Baywatch
Rooney Mara – Law & Order: SVU
Jake Gyllenhaal – City Slickers
Jonah Hill – I Heart Huckabees
Bradley Cooper – Wet Hot American Summer
Seth Rogan – Donnie Darko
Taylor Kitsch – Snakes on a Plane
Marcia Cross – Boy Meets World (she was Topanga’s mom!)
Jon Hamm – Gilmore Girls
Zooey Deschanel - Mumford
Jon Stewart – Half Baked
Katherine Heigl – Bride of Chucky
And on that note, I’ll leave you with this video that includes Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Ryan Gosling and Dale Godboldo. For instant Gosligratification, skip to 1:33 and try not to have your inner 12-year-old blush.
Lovelies, can you think of any other celebrities who had small parts in big movies or shows?

I like this list, though I wouldnt call Katherine Heigl’s part in Bride of Chucky small. She was more of the supporting character.

@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - Truth! I just meant non-major movies; I should’ve clarified, whoops. Good eye!

I’m not sure I’d call HALF of these actors “big” … sure, some of them are, but a few are only famous due to a FEW SMALL movies. Not like we’re talking about Russel Crowe, Denzel Washington or Judy Dench or something.
I know plenty of people who don’t even know who Michelle Williams, Jon Stewart, Marcia Cross or Taylor Kitsch are.

@LKJSlain@xanga - Wow, really? All of them have been in either huge movies or incredibly popular television programs in the last five years, so I just sort of assumed they were quite big. A lot of the old movies/shows I was looking at for this were in the 90s, which is why I think a lot of them are in the same general age group.
That said, I think you’ve given me an idea for another post about the more epic “big” actors that have had longer careers! Gracias.

@LKJSlain@xanga - Ahhhh gotcha.
Gotta love Netflix. I also used to work in film so I think I’m a bit more obsessive than others haha.

@samescobar - Heh… I used to poke around Hollywood myself… I’m trying to go back there. But first, I am trying to get my own web series and novels off the ground.

amanda Seyfried wa on an episode of Law and Order SVU, and so was Jeanette McCurdy.
And I’m going to shoot myself later for knowing this: Taylor Lautner was Sharkboy,.
