Fresh off her Video of the Year Award win at MTV’s Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, the always alluring Rihanna took a private jet to London to perform with Coldplay. However, while abroad, the titillating, tattooed songstress took to Instagram to share her latest body art, and I must say, it is a showstopper! Check it out here!
Whoa there, RiRi! She beauty described her tattoo as, “Goddess Isis- Complete Woman – Model for future generations- #GRANGRANDOLLY – always in and on my heart #1love.” [via Twitter] She followed up this Twitpic with another, more demure picture.
This time, Rihanna was pictured with her late grandmother, whom she affectionately refers to as “Gran Gran Dolly,” and to whom the tattoo is dedicated. One of the most important Egyptian goddess, Isis was revered as the ideal mother and wife. She embodies the essence of femininity, courage and perseverance.
While I am not too sure how many tattoos Rihanna has at the moment, I’m positive the number is somewhere in the double digits. As an advocate for self expression, I must say, I am loving RiRi’s most recent ink. Clearly, the meaning behind it deeply resonates with her. Artistically, I admire that on her more delicate body parts, she has always chosen very symmetrical tattoos such as the Roman numerals on her left shoulder, the phrase “Never a mistake, always a lesson” on her shoulder blade, the words “Rebelle fleur” on her neck and a Sanskrit prayer down her hip.
Lovelies, are you fond of Rihanna’s newest tattoo? Is it too much or just right? Share your thoughts!

If she likes her tattoo then it would be the right tattoo.

It’s honestly an insult to Isis for someone like Rihanna to get that tattoo oh her body regardless of whether or not it’s a tribute to someone else.
That’s like inmates who’ve murdered/raped people getting Jesus inked on them. It’s, like, the opposite of what the religious figure stands for.

Beautiful tatoo. But I don’t think she even know who Isis really is in Egyptian Mythology… I hope Isis will not be too offended about this !
Rihanna seems to be like Lady Gaga : she has a problem of “I WANT IT KNOW”, without an once of reflexion (most of the time). It is the impression they gave, though.
(roman numeral -I don’t think she is able to say something about the roman civilisation + sanskrit without speaking it + a stupid tatoo in bad french meaning nothing et je sais de quoi je parle puisque je suis française…)

Yes, because the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Rihanna – who dresses scantily, went back to her boyfriend after he beat the living crap out of her, and sings songs about “Tonight I’ma give it to you harder” – is a “model for future generations” who embodies femininity.

While I have a daughter with a plethora of tattoos, she shared with me that she wouldn’t do half of them again given the chance. Twenty years ago I had my eyebrow permanently done, as I have none except maybe an inch or so on each side. I went to someone reputable whose work I’d seen. Honest to pete, I regret having that done. I’m almost 60, and our facial features change, move, not necessarily visible to others, but just enough to make something like the eyebrows look different. I’m amazed by the klutzy looking tattoos I see on women in stores, out in public, etc. It does nothing to enhance one’s beauty, just draws attention to that part of the body. The tattoo can be a perfect work of art, and placed correctly, I suppose it can be flattering to most. Just not this old lady, who wishes she’d never messed with her eyebrows. I don’t have the bucks for laser, or I’d just get it all taken off. I still have to use a pencil to fill in where it’s worn off, and she used the wrong color on me.

I think it’s stupid but its her choice. I dont like any tattoos on or near the tits. It takes away from their natural beauty.

I’m not fond of this particular tattoo, but if she is, kudos to her. =)

It’s just right ’til her boobs sag one day…

I like it. There’s something … brave and empowered about it.
I love anything to do with lost religions.

Nice underboob. If you’re going to shade the body & wings, the face should be shaded too; it looks decent from the neck down. I hope she didn’t pay a lot for it.
