I’ve never understood the people who think having a gap between the front teeth is unattractive. One, because I disagree with the notion that any small detail of a person’s look could make them unattractive. And two, because gap teeth, are, well, awesome.
I have a really good friend who used to hate the space between her front teeth, and it make me sad to think she wanted to change something that was so her. Years later, she loves her gap because it sets her apart from most other people—and I love it because it’s just so cute!
And here I am talking about how we should love ourselves the way we are, while secretly wishing I had a gap between my front teeth. I can’t help it! I’m sure we all have that one thing we wish was different about ourselves — a gap is that thing for me.

lol, i don’t like this look, and while i don’t think any of those women in the pics are ugly, i think they would look better w/o the gap. i’m also glad i had braces. i think nearly everyone would get braces if money wasn’t a factor.

Sorry, but I really don’t find this attractive. Not that these girls are ugly by any means, they’re beautiful, but they’d be even more beautiful without the gap. Like @xxx_MYLiFE@xanga - said, I think if it was free or affordable, everyone would get braces and have their teeth fixed.

I only like Danielle’s from America’s Next Top Model… but that’s only because they made her get her originally huge gap filled in some so it wasn’t as noticeable. That only proves that most girls, even if they are otherwise incredibly beautiful, don’t look great with gapped teeth, I’m sorry to say :-/ And in all honesty, depending on the gap and the person, sometimes I think it can come across as “hillbilly-ish”, poor-looking, or not as classy. I know we should learn to embrace our looks, but in this case I think if you have the money to fill in a little gap, it would make a world of difference and people could focus more on you and not the space in between in your teeth

it isn’t just the gap but buckteeth plus a gap & sleepy eyes makes her look ditzy as if she has a permanent durrr look on her face(the main pic girl with red lipstick is who I’m talking about)

Samara from Mass Effect has a tooth gap and damn is she beautiful, hot, and otherwise amazing looking. It’s unfortunate that her face model doesn’t have the same gap. :[ Still a beautiful woman, but still…

Even after braces, I still have a very small gap between my front teeth (most people don’t even notice until I point it out) and if it were to get wider, I don’t think I’d bother to have it corrected.
It also cracks me up that people are saying if it weren’t for money, everyone would get braces, when these women are all famous and probably have more than enough money for braces. I know Anna Paquin intentionally chose not to have her gap corrected and I say good for her. The concept that everyone must have straight, perfect teeth is a relatively new one and a bit silly if you ask me.

Thank you for posting this! I have a gap in my upper front teeth, and I was feeling very insecure about it today after looking through some photos I took while I decided to smile showing my teeth for the first time. After reading this and going through the pictures I feel a lot better about it now. Maybe I won’t throw away those pictures I took today. :)

I love how everyone is all “Get braces” I have a gap and always have (except right after I had braces!) When I had a toothache in a back tooth I was pregnant so I didn’t get it fixed until I had the baby- during that time it hurt too much to wear my retainer and within about two months the gap was back! If I were to close it I would literally have to wear a retainer the rest of my life. The fact that some people aren’t insecure enough to worry about a gap every single day of their lives has nothing to do with not caring at all. If it were a simple fix (and for some people it is) then fine, but seriously it was bad enough I spent $6000 and went through all the pain and hassle of braces- not doing it again and then wearing a retainer FOREVER because some people don’t like gaps.

Gaps give physical charactor to people in my opinion. Now while I wouldn’t think a gap in between EACH tooth would be very attractive (Jack-O-Latern mouth) where if they closed their mouth,it would be totally air tight, I DO think small or sometimes even large gaps in between the top two front teeth is often attractive or “cute” or sometimes quite beautiful or sexy. I liked Danielle’s large gap on ANTM and I also like it smaller as well. It gave her extra charactor.
“Chance” from “I Love New York” (my god how do I even know this) also gave him added physical charactor (lord knows he needed it). His is MASSIVE too! Huge! Big enough where another tooth could fit. But, it really was kind of cute on his face structure.
I have a very very small one & I embrace it. I never used to when I was younger,but,that’s somewhat of a given with alot of stuff when you’re a teen or preteen.
I Googled a few questions (which eventually brought me here) because I am trying to find basically a “library” of different “tooth or teeth styles” or “smile styles”. I don’t mean cosmentic dentistry places, I just mean literally, a collection of different smiles and teeth with names for these teeth or smiles attached. I know tooth names (molar,incisor,bicuspid,etc) but I assume that there is names for ALLLLL the different smile types in the world based on tooth arrangement within the mouth.
Anybody?

People cant help if they have a gap or a spot or anything i dont have a gap but i think tht ur being really mean saying that the people above would look prettier now id like 2 c u pull tht off as well as them!
