If you have cable television, last night you were probably either watching the DNC, the VMAs or flipping between both. Whichever viewing choice you opted for (or even if your TV was off all night), it’s at least inarguable that one of these events has a much more…eclectic look than the other.
Each year, music’s biggest stars put their best (or weirdest) fashion foot forward at the VMAs, and we have a gallery of last night’s outfits. Check it out and let us know what you think!
Taylor Swift rarely wears anything that catches my eye. Sure, she looks great in those never-ending poofy princess dresses, but they’re so predictable by this point. Which is why I loved her white suit last night. She looks elegant, mature and like she’d fit right in with the Kennedy family. Those shoes make the outfit a bit “Dallas wife,” but I heartily approve of the overall look, and it was my favorite of the night!

1. Rihanna’s look is a complete miss unless she was going for the Halle Berry/wizened housewives of X county/just-gained-some-lbs-didn’t-have-time-for-crash-diet look2. Katy Perry looks like she’s going to brew a special evil potion3. Miley’s hair and dress clash4. Kesha’s dress needed longer hem and shorter sleeves; and hair color that doesn’t match so closely to skintone5. ???? looks like a plasticy, sweaty latex-y trash bag/ dress flattens boobs/ too tight around the arms/ weird texturizing going on near the hips/waist6. length of pink’s dress is TOO LONG. makes her look like a midget. also, being able to see bellybutton through a non-sheer dress is kind of embarrassing, at least I would be7. IS WIZ THE BABY DADDY? Dress would look 10000 x better with a different, more plunging neckline8. just wtf. no comment scandalous grandma9. underdressed10. is that Emma watson? Dress is cute but proportions, i.e. dress length, is off – looks like torso is longer than skirt part11. as whackadoodle as nicki minaj looks like sometimes, this look works for her. she looks like an asian ass kicking sexy ninja cop that came straight out of a music video.
am I being too critical or was this as fail as it looks?
