Cold weather means long winter nights, holiday parties and being close to that special someone. But, what if you don’t have a special someone? If you are lonely and find yourself in need of a hug this winter, designer Si Chan has got you covered! (No pun intended).

With the mindset that hugging is a way for humans to express love and depart from loneliness, Chan has created a bright green puffer jacket with clasped hands running down the front called the Hug Me Jacket. The hands make it look, and apparently feel, like you are being hugged while wearing the jacket.

I’ll admit, I chuckled a little when I saw the jacket for the first time, but the more I see it, the more it is kind of growing on me. I don’t think I would ever go so far as to actually wear it, but it is quite refreshing to see a designer put some quirky and fun aspects into their creation instead of the serious and often dullness of many others.

Si Chan has also created other non-traditional garments that while fun to look at, are definitely not for the everyday, 9-5 guy or gal.   

The Hug Me Jacket will go on sale this winter and I, for one, am curious to see how it fares on the market.
