Color company Pantone has just announced the top shades for Spring 2013. Yeah, it’s a bit early for most of us to be thinking that far ahead, but in the world of fashion, now is when spring planning starts. 2011′s hit color was honeysuckle, and last year’s was tangerine. So what does 2013 have in store? Click here to find out!
Deviating from the warmer shades of past years, it looks like Monaco Blue is going to be seen all over runways next year:
Though the above color is “the” trend for 2013, a few others were close runners-up. Check out a nicely-detailed explanation for each one here:
I’m a huge fan of the more muted color palette that we’re seeing here. I think shades 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7 are most likely to find their way into my closet this spring. Actually, I wouldn’t mind sporting any of these. Hopefully more affordable chains catch on! [via Racked]
What do you think of these shades? Which ones are your favorites?

I love the greens, orange and yellow the best. I also quite like the purple as well! Apparently I am off to a great start with my colors.

Love them, but I must say that the number one blue is my least favourite of the set.

“Tender shoots”?

It’s like I just walked into a 50′s ad and came out in the 40′s. These are the colors of old Hollywood, not of the ‘future’ which is what everyone is aiming for these days.
Personally I think it’s boring.

I look best in greens and blues, so I’m loving the top four colors! Especially grayed jade.

how is monaco blue different from navy blue?
guest
@SuburbanSweetheart - refers to the color of young, or “tender” grass or plants just coming out of the ground, “shoots”. you’ve probably heard of bamboo shoots.
@happyobligations@xanga - navy is a deep ultramarine blue. monaco blue seems to be a little lighter and greener, from what i can tell.

@xvietcharmsx@xanga - Um, yes, I understand, thanks. I just think it’s sort of a silly, dramatic name for… lime green.

@SuburbanSweetheart - i wasn’t being condescending. it’s definitely a yellow-green, but lime green is much brighter/ more saturated.
