As a kid, my family (and many families, I’m sure) had a yearly tradition of watching several holiday productions: the Animaniacs Christmas episode, an edited-for-TV version of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and, most importantly, A Christmas Story.
I suppose by now I should be used to Hollywood latching onto perfectly good movies and making a mockery out of them. But when I discovered that they were making a sequel to A Christmas Story, I was appalled. And when I saw the trailer, I almost threw my computer out the window. Watch it here, and let us know if you’re as miffed as I am!
Is anyone else not surprised that this is going direct-to-DVD? Oh well: I may not like the idea, but no one is going to sit me down and force me to watch this sequel. (Unless my boyfriend concocts some sort of sick date night.) I guess I’ll just forget it even exists and focus my chagrin towards other more pressing issues. [via Gawker]
Are you happy they made a sequel to A Christmas Story? Does it look funny? Will you watch it?

…No. They. Did. Not. They are going to ruin this classic for all younger generations. >..< UGH!

The person that shat all over my childhood needs to wipe their ass and get ready to face the shooting squad for their act of treason. How dare they?????? I am going to keep my child unaware of this shit.

It already has one sequel called It Runs in the Family (also called My Summer Story).

Why must perfectly good movies be ruined with horrible sequels? No, I will not watch this.

… Well this is just going to suck T_T

No way. Never ever ever, not when I’m from Cleveland (where the original was shot).

NOOOOO! I couldn’t even make it through the preview, this is a terrible idea and a worse execution than I realized was even possible

=( the only way I would have watches this is of the original cast had been in it. But of course everyone is well into or passed their 40′s. The dad isn’t even alive anymore. The Grinch would be proud, they just stole my Christmas.

They didn’t even try to make it a modern day remake.
If you are going to remake such a classic it has to be redone in a new interesting way or people are just going to shit all over it and not give it a try. What a waste of a golden opportunity.
I want to personally shin kick everyone involved in giving this the green light.

NO. NO.
Oh gosh, what is this even supposed to be? You can’t make a sequel to gold like the original. Especially a sloppy halfway attempt like the garbage shown in the video.
