I’m not sure I buy into fashion rules. For example “Don’t wear white after labor day“. If that is the case, then why is there such a thing as ‘winter whites’? I truly believe that part of fashion is breaking the rules as much as possible. Since Labor Day was Monday, reminding us that white is supposedly not cool anymore, here are some style quotes about wearing white.

How do you feel about white after Labor Day?

Wear what you want, when you want to wear it (well, within reason. Don’t wear a bikini to a business meeting.) But as for when to wear or not to wear whatever color? who cares?

As a southern woman, I am IN LOVE with the last one, ya’ll!

I don’t like wearing white to begin with. It shows every little mark and piece of dirt that you’ve ever passed by. I prefer dark colors, which has its downfalls too. If I wear white, it’s because I want to. I don’t care if it’s after labor day or not.
That being said, some of these were interesting
They were funny when I could understand the reference. I bet the’re be a big hit with some of the ladies on here! ^.^

@wonderchica22@xanga - Is that what that was all about? Being Southern?! LOL! I was so confused! I was like “What’s wrong with white shoes in unsweetened iced tea, Miracle Whip and saying ‘you guy’? I do all those things and I love them”
I guess it’s because I’m not a southern girl LOL

@ulvenNixie@xanga - Yea. A bunch of southern belle stereotypes is all that was.

I think rules were meant to be broken.
I have a pale complexion, so I don’t wear a lot of white clothes unless it’s a white tee. I prefer darker colors on me. And white clothes seem to get more dirty easily.

@ulvenNixie@xanga - I live in the South but I didn’t get it either. Haha.

I wear what I want. And that includes white after labor day:)

I say wear what you want, even if it is white after Labor Day. What matters is the type of fabric, not the color. Thicker, heavier fabrics for the cooler months and thinner, lighter clothes for the warm ones.

Do people not know that this rule was discarded years ago? No one cares, fashion is fashion.

Why aren’t you supposed to wear white after Labor Day? I don’t understand.
