I tend to lose my way every Wednesday. Hey, it happens. Weekend plans are beginning to emerge, projects are starting to wrap up… it can be pretty distracting and stressful. To keep my eye on the prize and my hair from being ripped out, I like to save some kind of inspirational image or quotation on my desktop to keep me going. I know, kinda nerdy, right?

Well, honestly, I first used it as my desktop background because I just liked how it looked (I’m a graphic designer; I just convinced myself I was “working”), and after seeing the words every day, every hour, it really helped me get through the stressful days. When you see “Punch today in the face” every day (located in the gallery)… it kinda makes you wanna punch today in the face. (Or maybe high-five or pinch if punching is too violent for you. I always feel a little punchy.)

I also did something similar when I was waiting tables. I always had a picture of friends and my boyfriend in my server book, so that whenever I opened it, I’d see something that would make me smile. I liked waiting tables for the most part, but for those difficult days, it really make it better. Even when I was saving up to go on vacation, putting a picture of my destination in my book made me want to work harder.

Anything special that you do to keep yourself motivated throughout the work and/or school week?

Also, don’t forget to check out the gallery of inspirational images! Which one is your favorite?
