As far as street art goes, I think it’s fair to throw this into the same category as yarn bombing. It’s the softer side of public art. People will complain of spray paint graffiti art, and before you know it, that piece of art is painted over by the city. You never hear of people complaining or taking down yarn bombs, and I can’t imagine anyone wanting to take down this beautiful butterfly street art.
Artist, Tasha Lewis, makes these butterflies by hand from recycled materials, and attached each one with a magnet. She stuck these beautiful blue butterflies all over her home town of Indianapolis, calling the project Butterfly Swarm.
