By now you’ve probably heard about how Kanye West made Kim Kardashian overhaul her wardrobe. In clips from the incident, the discarded clothes were put into a declared “donation pile.” Except…Kim didn’t quite donate them. Instead they’re being listed on Ebay, and she Tweeted that they will be used “for a charity auction! Going to Life Change Community Church.” Except…only 10% of the proceeds are going to charity. Read more and take a peek at some of the items by clicking here!
There are 364 items over on Kim’s Ebay page, so you can be the proud owner of her “strapless metallic bandage dress,” should you feel so inclined/have hundreds of dollars to spend on it. While I used to sell tons of stuff on Ebay to make some extra money in college, I’m confused as to why Kim can’t donate 100% of these proceeds to charity. Head on over to the source to read even more about the sale! [via Fashionista]

As far as I am concerned, she is not required to donate anything of the proceeds to any charity. It is not mandatory to donate regardless of one’s income, one chooses to donate to who, when, what and how much. So, if she’s willing to part with 10% of the proceeds of her clothing auctions, good for her.

It’s her money. She doesn’t have to do anything with it that she doesn’t want to.

I guess it’s good that she’s not just throwing all of her clothes in the trash. Whether she decided to donate all of her clothes or sell them all on ebay, either way, someone else can have them if she’s not using them.
I was curious what size she wore, so I clicked on the ebay link and was surprised that her dress sizes ranged from 0-6. Interesting.

if she was claiming that all the proceeds are for charity then yeah that’s rude, but seeing as how people know it’s 10% then it’s totally fine. She has no obligation to make a donation even if she is rich.

I think the only issue here is if she said something misleading about the proceeds to make people think more than 10% would go to charity. In general, I applaud someone donating any amount to charity, regardless of income. As someone else said, she isn’t tossing them. I’m sure the price people are going to pay on ebay for the clothes is a lot less than she bought them for, giving slightly less filthy rich people a chance to have cute whatever.

uhh it’s her money and she can do whatever she wants with it. No one is going to tell you to donate all of your money to charity.

scott’s burgundy/red moccasin’s made me laugh. their style is not bad. it is actually cute compared to demi lovato’s horrible style. kim’s before and after is that the length of her dress is knee length instead of mid-thigh.
kourtney’s crop jacket is cute. I like the “Thriller” boot/heels. I also like the burberry peacoat.

Most of the stuff she probably got for free from designers and whatnot, and she is donating only 10% because she is greedy, what else is new? Even if it was 30-50% I’d see it being more legit. Money hungry people always want more.

If I sold my clothes on Ebay, I wouldn’t give any of the money to charity. So whatever.
