Summer may be winding down, but there are still new styles emerging for the season. While we tend to focus on women’s fashion here at Lovelyish, there’s one trend gaining popularity among frat boys that we just couldn’t ignore. Introducing: “chubby” shorts.
According to the source, “frat brothers are fast embracing Chubbies, a line of short shorts aimed at young men from a small San Francisco-based company seeking a national presence.” The idea behind them is apparently to turn the objectification of the fashion industry on men, for once.
In fact, the company that makes Chubbies wants to “stigmatize” cargo shorts and make thigh highlighting the new normal. Looking at that guy above, I could be okay with that. This is a somewhat puzzling trend, but I don’t mind it! [via Huffington Post]

Yeah, I’ve seen shorter. I have seen a lot of the frat guys wearing shorter shorts lately though. It doesn’t faze me. Wear whatever you want to wear.

In New Zealand, guys of all ages have (unfortunately) been wearing short shorts for YEARS. Even in the middle of winter, fashion out in rural areas seem to be short shorts and a pair of gumboots. We call them stubbies here though- and they are mentally scarring.

Short shorts and the guys wearing a USA Rugby shirt?? They go hand and hand but only during a Rugby match and for the courtesy of the players and crowd you where spandex underneath….Frat Boys are dumb…

What. When I was in high school (2003-2006), future bros wore these on non-uniform days. These dudes surely went on to join good ole southern frats. But, I’m just saying this isn’t a trend, it’s a style that’s been around for quite some time.
