I wasn’t exactly the most stunning beauty at any of my high school proms. My vague recollections of the dances involve a lot of shiny, metallic material and over-curled hair. In fact, I never even managed to snag a prom date, though dancing with my girl friends was more than enough for me.

Basically, my prom photos are pretty much your standard “awkward teenager at a dance” fare, and I don’t exactly cringe when I look at them.
