A lot of people complain about the Disney princesses being bad role models for girls. But what about these ramped-up, superhero versions? 

Yes, I know Comic Con was a long time ago. But I still think what these ladies did is so freaking awesome. I mean, I loved watching the movies of the various princesses when I was a little kid (and a lot of us here at Lovelyish still get excited about ladies in Disney movies!). I definitely wanted to be Belle more than once growing up. But even Belle isn’t the best role model for a little girl to have growing up.You can always argue that they’re not “real heroes,” which is partially why I find these new takes on the Princesses so refreshing.

I also have to admit that I find cosplaying very interesting. This basically translates to people dress up as their favorite fictional characters (sometimes even remixing or revamping their overall look), usually at gatherings like Comic Con. It’s a fun way to show how much you love a fictional character you grew up with. Or even sometimes how you wished they could have been…

Oh, that’s sweet. She looks like Thor!
