I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to drinks. Back in the day, I worked at an ice cream shoppe where we concocted a variety of boozy shakes, and in college I worked next to a bar where the bartender would come over with samples of strange (and usually delicious) concoctions for me to test out before putting them on the specials board. So I was pretty open to trying the whipped cream and marshmallow vodkas that caused a buzz last year. (They were actually pretty good in certain mixed drinks!) But now there are a few new flavors on the market that make me wonder if this flavored vodka business is going too far. Check them out here and let us know what you think!

First we have the buttered popcorn flavor, pictured above, which probably has the most “disgusting” potential of the bunch. Were I to try the stuff, I would probably mix it in one of those boozy shakes mentioned above; perhaps a chocolate one. (I really love putting M&Ms in my popcorn, so it could work!)


Up next, we have waffle flavored vodka, which doesn’t sound like the worst. I may actually try this flavor out of curiosity; if the liquor is well-done, it would probably pair nicely with some fruity mixers and soda, like the recipe above mentions. Or it could just leave me gagging and never wanting to eat breakfast again.


Finally we have glazed donut vodka, which, given my aversion to donuts, I’ll probably be staying away from. Were I to risk drinking this, I would probably splash it into a ridiculous recipe; perhaps it would make a good substitute for the cake vodka in birthday cake shots.

While these look intriguing (to say the least), I will probably just stick to my drink of choice: rye whiskey on the rocks. But if I’m ever feeling adventurous in the liquor aisle, I’ll be sure to keep you Lovelies updated about the results!
