I remember a particular summer at camp where I, ever the bookworm, had tragically only brought one book with me. And it wasn’t even my preferred sci-fi/fantasy fare: it was Chicken Soup for the Teen’s Soul. I was semi-upset, but proceeded to read it in my bunk.

And then something funny happened: I became the center of attention. Turns out, the Chicken Soup books are a great way to bond with fellow 13-year-old girls, and instead of quietly sitting in the corner, I read excerpts from it to my bunkmates all night. And now, the Chicken Soup series has more to offer me than adolescent summer camp popularity, with a new line of soups from its creators!

That’s right, the creators of the series are launching Chicken Soup chicken soup, and you’ll be able to purchase a jar of it in February 2013. If chicken isn’t your thing, don’t fret: there will also be flavors such as creamy tomato, mushroom barley, squash, sweet corn and chipotle and black bean.

But wait: there’s more! The line, which seems to cater to sick people, people who have just been dumped or both, will also eventually feature over 100 different comfort foods. So get ready for “soulful” pot pies, casseroles, stews, gravies and broths. [via NYDN]

Will you be trying any foods from this line?
