I’m the type of girl who thrives on old reruns of Gilmore Girls and Friends rather than tackling a new series. It just takes so much energy to get sucked into a new show, and then once I’m in I’ll become crazy-obsessed. You know what I mean?
With that said, I’ve scoured the list of new fall TV shows and come up with some potentials that seem worth the all-night marathons I’m bound to pull.
1. 666 Park Avenue
An adaptation of Gabriella Pierce’s novel, this show centers on a Midwestern couple who agree to manage an apartment building named The Drake. They come to find out that all the building’s residents have made deals with the devil. It seems a little creepy, a little sexy… the perfect combination for those cold autumn nights! The show’s actors liken it to “a splash of Rosemary’s Baby with a hint of The Shining and the warm glow of ABC television.” Sign me up! Premieres: Sunday, September 30 at 10/9c
2. Guys with Kids
We’ve seen this concept a billion times before: dudes with kids, getting into a bunch of hilarious shenanigans. Yeah, yeah. But what perks my interest in this show is that it’s produced by my future husband Jimmy Fallon. How can it not be funny? The show follows three 30-somethings as they simultaneously deal with getting older and raising a bunch of babies. I’m actually digging all the guy humor in this show! Premieres: Wednesday, September 26 at 8:30/7:30c
3. Beauty and the Beast
This new CW show doesn’t quite resemble the Disney movie, but is an updated version of the 1980’s CBS series by the same name. The main character is homicide detective Catherine Chandler, a “smart, no-nonsense” type of girl. She forges a dangerous connection with the witness of her mother’s murder and her personal savior—a mysterious man who turns into a beast when enraged. Premieres: Thursday, October 11 at 9/8c
4. The Mindy Project
Ahhh, I love Mindy Kaling (of The Office fame). She’s a hilarious actor and writer, and now’s she even got a new series that I assume will also be hilarious. In it, she stars as Mindy (herself!), an OB/GYN struggling with single life. Think Bridget Jones mixed with Scrubs. How can that not be good?! Premieres: Tuesday, September 25 at 9:30/8:30c
So Lovelies, any of these sound promising to you? What other shows are you most excited for?
