Of all the toys I played with as a kid, I remember being most frustrated by the Etch-a-sketch. You would think that being artistically inclined, I could have been able to draw more than zig-zag lines. Thank goodness for my patient parents who after running up to them 100 times screaming “Look!! I drew Stairs!!” still said “Good Job honey!!” every time. Eventually, I had more fun erasing things than drawing them. It’s not very often as a child you just get to shake the shit out of something.
I accepted the Etch-a-sketch as one of those toys that has limited possibilities. I assumed that because I couldn’t draw a curved line and neither could my parents, It just couldn’t be done. This artist has proved me wrong. Who ever did these intricate pieces of art clearly had a lot of time of their hands as a child and way more forethought and patience than I did. Check out more of these awesome Etch-a-sketch drawings under the cut.

Wow. I’m so inept that I can’t even make one straight line on an Etch a Sketch.
