Ladies, are you tired of using those cumbersome, brutish pens that are made for manly hands? Do you dread sitting down to write a letter to your sweetheart or compile the grocery list, because regular pens are just too difficult to use? Then Bic has a product for you: the Bic for Her, which is a special, magic lady pen that was created for our delicate sensibilities. But it looks like some Amazon reviewers don’t have the most positive reactions to this product…producing some hilarious reviews!
One reviewer writes about her confusion in regards to the instrument:
I was recently given a box of these as a gift from my husband, but I have no idea what to do with them! They’re too thin to make a good rolling pin. I can’t ladle out my soups with them. And the tiny point doesn’t even make a dent when I try to use one to chop veggies! I don’t get it. If I can’t use it in the kitchen, what the hell am I supposed to do with one????”
Another seems to be, um, doing it wrong:
I tried these on a whim, and I have to say I wasn’t very impressed. The applicator mechanism is far too fiddly, and the plastic tampon inside far too thin (not to mention uncomfortable and non-absorbant) – I’m sure there must be a knack to using them, but I couldn’t find it. They also stained my knickers blue for some reason. I really wanted to like these, but it’s back to pads for me.”
One man sees the inherent danger of the devices:
We’re all joking about this, naturally (a woman using a pen – ridiculous!), but this could have serious implications. What’s next, ladies attending universities? Pens to encourage literacy in the lower orders? The modern world is a mad place indeed.
Amazon, I do hope you’re scrupulous in only selling these to married men to give to their wives. To be used under strict supervision and with a doctor’s note of consent.”
Well! I sure am thankful that Bic has finally provided me with this useful tool to better my life. Head on over to the source to see even more silliness! [via Jezebel]
What do you think of this product? What about the reviews?

I think these pens are so ridiculous. They were the inspiration for a post I did this weekend and I shared the Amazon page on my facebook because it made me laugh.

wait… are those review serious? especially the second one… is this bitch a dumbass or what?

@pretty_inx_plaid@xanga - I guess you didn’t catch the sarcasm…. They are making fun of the fact that they invented a pen made for women.

lol dying. the first one is hilarious

@LondonsMommy@momaroo - guess not. the pens are ridiculous though.

I guess I’m not “feminist” enough to care that these say “for her”. It’s just because they’re in pretty pastel colors.. *shrug* I’ll use whatever pen is around, but if it has a design or a bright color, I’ll usually carry that instead LOL

LOL, women.

You really are gonna take it this far? Do you think guys want a pastel purple pen? You can’t have it both ways…you can’t demand equality for woman AND get mad when they make stuff geared toward women.

hahahahahah I LOVE those reviews. I’m a pen-aholic and I would probably buy them just because they’re cute colours.
guest
I know plenty of gay men that would use those.
guest
Aww, they’re pretty.
guest
oh my god hahahaha, those reviews are genius! hahaahahhahaa
xoxo

they sort of copied schick quattro’s “For Women” razor gender labeling on their products.

LOL

Ahahahahahahaha! Geniuses all!
This is especially funny because although I’m a very petite woman, I use pens in the first place because I always break mechanical pencils.

I totally buy these! I buy the glitter glide ones though, and honestly they are really comfortable and easy to use, but I mostly buy them because they are glittery pink and purple, and they write really nicely. The ink flow is fantastic, and you dont get those annoying gaps in the letters because the ink is so fluid.
Those comments are hilarious though, but I like these pens!

Hahahaha omg. Internet trollers, troll on. Pretty colored pens, but they make mechanical pencils in the exact same colors but they don’t say “for her”. Its funny as well, because my mom really likes big oversized fat pens because they fit easier into her hand and don’t irritate her joints by having to hold something so tiny. Their logic is so backwards :B
@NightCometh@xanga - Gender equality would negate having pens specifically “for her” wouldn’t it? They would just be gender-neutral, like every other pen

I was required by my manager at work to use a purple pom-pom pen if I had any questions regarding my work there or it’s ‘company policy.’ It wrote with a sparkly purple ink. That, midear, is a silly pen.
The government really is a strange organization. Φ ≡

LMAO! I bought some not knowing. I mean I bought them because of the color of the ink, and they are pretty. But mine are thicker than these pictured. I like them.

How does one market pens anyway? The fact they glide easily, have a decent amount of ink, don’t screw up your signature… have a nice design… This was a failed attempt at a different kind of marketing, so what.
As someone inferred pens aren’t razors/ shouldn’t be marketed the same way. Then again why are razors sold the way they are? I mean it’s just a razor- it’ll work the same as any other razor (despite ads that implore there is a difference; men’s razors will leave you ‘rugged’ women’s razors will leave you ‘smooth’ both an outright lie.)
I think the real issue here is: why aren’t people getting their panties in a twist over the way razor’s are sold?

They are JUST pens… Who gives a rats arse! I seen them yesterday and although they are too thin, they seem like decent pens. Especially for people who are into the whole status thing of having Pastel coloured shit.

Hilarious!!

Finally, no more asking my male coworkers to fill out paperwork for me because those rough ‘mens’ pens can really do a number on my delicate digits. These ‘fem’ pens are the perfect size and fit so that I may write freely without fear of losing a nail, and not to mention the pretty colors that they come in

A product with a name like that deserves exactly these reviews. LOL. the second is the best.
