I have heard some pretty weird claims about beauty products before, but this is definitely one for the books. The latest craze in hair care products is beer infused shampoo. Yes, you read that correctly.
Now, you can start your day off with beer and not have to feel bad about it. Brands such as Lush, Broo and even Redkin have made their own versions of this wacky hair product and all claim that it does, indeed do wonders to improve the look and health of your hair.
The malt and hops from the beer coats your strands to create shine and the yeast gives your hair strength and volume.
If you are at all skeptical about this product, I don’t blame you because I, myself still do not know whether to buy into the hype or wait it out and laugh at the brave ones who are walking around smelling like alcoholics.
The curious souls can test this shampoo out for $12-$30 a bottle and let us know your results!
How many of you Lovelies would use beer shampoo?

I would totally try it!

I feel like Lovelyish has posted many times about how beer rinses work magic for your hair but when someone actually comes up with a hair product containing beer you think it’s strange and are skeptical about it???? Make up your minds!

@colorMEpurple2@xanga - seriously, plus beer rinses are way cheaper than 12-30 dollar shampoo

Pass. I want a beer shower.

I’m thinking the products touting beer are rather spendy. Would it not be just as feasible to rinse out your hair with a bottle of beer? Never tried it, but if someone here has, let us know how it makes your hair feel.

@Pollypinks@xanga - I’ve never tried it myself, but I seem to recall meeting a guy years ago who said he washed his hair with straight beer and it left his hair all shiny and soft. I’m kind of tempted to try it.

It’s delicious!!! AND, farting bubbles is a nice little bonus.

LOL! This is nothing new! Back in the 70s they had beer shampoo and conditioner on the market (it was called Body on Tap). It was pretty mediocre according to my friend’s mother, who was a hairdresser at the time. She gave her daughter holy hell for wasting her babysitting money on it (especially since she bought HUGE pump bottles of shampoo that smelled like green apples). I don’t imagine this product would be any better, and I’m certain that there are better shampoos out there for the same price.
To be honest, Body on Tap is still available. It has to be special ordered (online).
