I spend copious amounts of my time on Tumblr… and by Tumblr, I mean #whatshouldwecallme. Having a bad week at work? Frustrated with your friend/boyfriend? You’re not alone! I was feeling particularly murderous (yes, that is the best word I can use to describe it) after a stressful week at work. I giggled and chortled at this Tumblr (and maybe this videotoo) until I cried.
What Should We Call Me or #whatshouldwecallme was created in February 2012 by two best friends both attending law school (one in SF, the other in DC) as a way to keep in touch throughout the school year. The name stems from one of the friends accidentally typing “What should we call me?” as the name of the blog, and then deciding to keep the awkward title. The blog takes everyday occurrences and pairs them with reactionary images of animals, television shows, and little pieces of Internet gold, with a category for each: Friends, Relationships, Drinking, Work & School (my favorite), Inconveniences, etc. Hilarious, accurate, and slightly NSFW. Sign me up!
I must admit, I knew that I could probably relate to these girls on more than a few levels when I stumbled across this one:
Me:
Lovelies, how do you laugh yourself out of a funk?

It’s Tumblr, not Twitter. (Thankfully!) Why the hashtag?

@blackspiders@xanga - I think hashtags on Tumblr work the same way. Not sure why they added a hashtag to the title though!
