I never thought I was the type to get a Disney tattoo. It never even crossed my mind. Then one day at the tattoo shop, I was planning my new tattoo with my long-time friend and tattoo artist; And we were trying to decide how to make what I wanted work. All I knew was that I wanted a banner that said “Always Sleepy”. Finally after discussing many things (a pillow & blanket, a lantern, etc.), I texted his fiance — who is an amazing graphic designer/ artist, and asked her opinion. Her suggestion? A skunk. A perfect subtle reference to one of my favorite Disney films, Bambi.
I went for it. And now I have an amazing tattoo that isn’t too obviously “Disney”, but also a nostalgic tribute to my childhood. You can check out a photo of my tattoo under the cut, along with some other people who have tattoos inspired by children’s movies.

I love the idea of a Disney tattoo. For the longest time i’ve wanted the medallion from Bedknobs and Broomsticks, nostalgia ftw!

funny this came up. I saw a horrible sleeve today that was a scene from The Little Mermaid.
The artwork is what sucked most though.

If I was going to get one, I’d get a little ash spirit from spirit away. They are so cute. ^_^

I totally have a Lion King tattoo, it’s the drawing of Simba that Rafiki draws on his tree. Super duper love it. A year or so after I got it, though, I started seeing more of them on the internet. :/
Either way, I super duper love it, and would totally do more cartoon/Disney tattoos in the future.

The Labyrinth tat is awesome. I want one of Calcifur from Howl’s Moving Castle.

The level of detail on the ones shown here is remarkable. Love your Flower, too.

I could totally see my husband getting a “Goonies” tattoo. He was so distraught when I told him I’d never seen it so he bought it and made me watch it. I don’t think I could ever get so attached to a movie that I’d get a tattoo of it. No… I take that back. There are a couple of movies I’d get quotes from. But no cartoons. =/
