Miley is looking awful “punk” these days (I have legitimately punk friends that would kill me if they knew I described Miley that way). Let me explain my logic in using the work “punk.” As I understand it, punk isn’t so much a look, as it is an attitude. You can wear khakis and be punk.. It’s all about not caring what the world expects of you, and Miley seems to have that attitude.
We expect her to be a glamour girl, and instead she shocked us with a short punky haircut. She steps out wearing platform boots and camo, instead of getting all girled up. Miley is finding her own style, and I like her more than I ever have out of respect for that. Although I could see people hating this outfit… in general it is sort of so-so… Just sort of running around clothes. What I really want to discuss are those stomp-a-hoe boots. Very 1990′s industrial. I wouldn’t be surprised if she were carrying a Tool CD in her purse. See more under the cut.
What do you think about those boots? Hit or miss?

I do not mind the boots, I miss her pretty hair though,

Any other high school aged girls wearing this on the street would elicit a smile and a comment about how “one day they’ll grow out of it”. I feel sorry for her that her “celebrity” draws so much intense scrutiny on her.

I’ve never considered her to be a glamor girl, nor did I ever expect her to be one. Her new look does not surprise me at all. I would have been more shocked to see her in Louboutins while carrying a Hermes bag. Other than the style of the boots, this is not that much different than how she has always dressed outside of red carpet events.
I totally forgot about the term “stomp a ho” boots.

Wait… Her hair is ACTUALLY like that? When I saw those pics of it, I thought someone photoshopped it… Did she have a Britney Spears moment?

A good pair of Doc Marten’s takes over stiletto heals in my book any day. I say keep it up, cuz she’ll have a better back in 20 years.

Ah, the punk people. I remember dating a guitar player in Austin’s punk scene. A group of people who spent more time cultivating the “I don’t give a shit” look, there never were. Lol. Love her hair. The boots too.

I like her boots and her hair! Fashion is fashion, it changes just like the people. It’s also available so I don’t see much of a problem. ^-^

i seriously think her makeover is either a joke or for a movie, it just doesn’t fit her in my opinion but then again i don’t know her. it’s still weird because she like changed overnight it seems like lmao

such a different style of clothing and hair from what she usually wears is she trying to change her image?

It’s not that different, really. From her side-boobage shirt, numerous rings, and general “I’m out doing my thing, not dressing up to please you” sort of look lately, it just seems like she’s being herslef and not “uber Disney star robot Miley!” As for the hair . . .she’s a Cyrus. We’re just lucky she’s not sporting a mullet and sleeveless flannel.
Personally, I like her “punk” style hair cut and clothes a lot better than any red carpet look I’ve ever seen her wear.
