So the news hit last week that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux got engaged. While we scoured for a photo of the engagement ring (save yourself the trouble— there’s no photo of it on the web yet!), we became more interested in the couple’s on-the-go, beanie-wearing style that’s been overlooked in the tabloids. We couldn’t think of a better way to examine the fashion of the newly engaged lovebirds than to put them head to head with the clashing couple Brangelina!

We think it’s time we break it down with a celebrity couple style showdown! And psst… we know this rivalry is so old news, but just go with it!

We know many of you have been rooting for Jennifer to settle down for a long time. I mean… let’s not even get into those John Mayer days! Let’s go into her style though: Jennifer has that casual yet classic, “be my best friend” style that people find approachable and friendly— laidback in a pair of blue jeans, simple straight hair, a trench or peacoat, and a pair of aviators, she looks like she’s always on the go and looking good while she does it. Her red carpet style also remains simple— never flashy and always that of an American sweetheart.

Angelina Jolie
Angelina’s style has changed quite a bit over time. And for the better of course— she went from carrying around Billy Bob Thorton’s blood in a vessel around her neck to the minimalist jeans-and-a T-shirt mom and Goodwill Ambassador we see today. Her wardrobe has cleaned up, leaving us to witness just how naturally beautiful the woman is with her simple style. It’s definitely more about quality with her. Her red carpet style is similar to Jennifer’s— besides that leg there’s nothing too flashy she’d wear in the evenings either.
