I’m not the most sadistic of people, but honestly…sometimes crying children make me laugh. A lot. Naturally I don’t chuckle if a kid hurts himself, but it’s hard not to smile at the naive dismay that comes from something like a dropped ice cream cone. Which is why I was almost in tears from laughing at this video, in which two brothers are distraught by The Odd Life of Timothy Green. I don’t think a children’s movie since Bambi has induced this many tears. You can watch it by clicking here, but be warned: spoilers abound!
I think the real reason these kids should be crying is because this video is still going to be floating around the Internet when they’re in high school. But, hey, we all have awkward childhood moments; maybe this will just prove to be a funny anecdote for them. [via Gawker]
What do you think of this video?

That’s sad, those poor kids.

Thank gawd phone cameras didn’t exist when I was in HS.

Are they faking? Their parents want 15 minutes I swear. Those tears were so damned fake.

All this time I thought I was the only one that laughed at kids bawling their eyes out. Good to know I’m not.

Great. I kinda wanted to see that movie, but I got a spoiler within the first 20 seconds of this video.
Kids.

Ugh, that is super annoying. It doesn’t even seem totally real, unless their parents just got them all hyped up on sugar and this is some kind of come-down. Ew.

@secretbeerreporter@xanga - Nope you are certainly not alone, those who spend large amounts of time with kids laugh at their tears the most. They are constant sources of hilarity. People who “hate kids” have no sense of humor.

@Manic_Butterflies@xanga - IDK about that. I would dream of having one of them crotch droppings of my own and don’t really like kids, nor do I enjoy being around them, and yet I still have a pretty good sense of humor.

To the people that are saying this is fake I have to disagree. Many, many years ago when I was 6 my Mom rented Turner and Hooch. When Hooch died I threw myself on the floor and cried hysterically. I told my Mom I didn’t like her and it took a long time to calm me down and I still hate sad movies. I do think it’s sad the parents are laughing and taping them. Sometimes it seems like parents care more about their 15 minutes of youtube fame than about being good parents.

my dad laughs because me and my mom cry at movies a lot… I can’t really remember if I did as a kid, but I’m sure I did – thankfully it wasn’t convenient to get out the big bulky video camera back then!

How is watching kids this distraught funny? Am I missing a funny ‘bone’ here or what? Like, I don’t understand why the parents film them & constantly ask them “Why are you upset??” Like WE KNOW WHY. The poor kids just sobbed it out repeatedly on the first question. I don’t think it’s that funny..I don’t think it’s worthy of a “youtube” sensation either. I don’t think the parents should have filmed their children bawling for fifteen minutes, asking the same question over & over again, while laughing. While asking if they’d “like to see the movie again or not”
There’s nothing hilarious when a child is this upset, because they either don’t understand why it happened or aren’t coping well with it.

I knew the movie was going to be sad as hell from the previews. There was no conflict presented in the trailer. Figured it pull the same crap Bridge of Terabitha did. I don’t appreciate it.

I refuse to watch. I want to watch this movie… Maybe when I get the chance to, I’ll come back to this post check out the video lol.

I guess I’m not watching this movie anymore. Thanks for the spoiler alert, lol.
I actually think those kids are being genuine.

Yeah, this is definitely not fake. Kids are sensitive! I almost cried at the end of it. I wish those parents didn’t… do this. I don’t even know. They shouldn’t be laughing, though. It was a sad ending!! Poor little guys.

Fake or not, I was in tears from laughing so hard at this video.

I’m not sure how I feel about this internet video. If those kids are genuinely upset, those parents are being a little cruel. If they’re faking it, I don’t feel bad for being a tad annoyed, lol. It had some funny moments though.
I’m definitely not watching The Odd Life of Timothy Green. The images shown in the trailers are pretty, but I can’t take sad movies. I cry, then hate myself for crying at the fictitious situation, and end up hating the movie. I’m really against watching movies that do that to me. I think it’s because I watch movies for a little escape from my life and whatever’s on my mind. I don’t need to fill it with things that are just as or more depressing than what I’ve been going through. I don’t see the need to do that to myself.
Just wanted to share that

@Manic_Butterflies@xanga - That doesn’t make sense. What hilarity? I never found tears from either grown ups or children to be particularly hilarious even after spending large amount of time with each group, and I do want kids.
@Orlei@xanga - I know I cried in The Lion King.

@Hinase@xanga - Kids cry about many things that are not worth crying about. It’s funny. It’s obviously not funny when they cry about things that are sad. In my experience at a daycare, most of the time it is something funny.
